Julie Eastman

Chief Information Officer & Senior Vice President 

Julie Eastman, RN, MBA, is the chief information officer and a senior vice president at UCI Health.

In her capacity as CIO, Eastman aligns information technology strategies with the goals and objectives of UCI Health, managing its extensive IT infrastructure, and overseeing IT operations and projects. She helms all aspects of Information Technology Services (ITS), including technology and application delivery and support, clinical informatics, telecommunications and biomedical engineering. 

Eastman has a deep commitment to furthering the UC Irvine mission, leveraging technology, developing talented teams, and supporting UCI Health operations in delivering exceptional, patient-centric solutions that redefine healthcare in the consumer digital age.

Eastman is equipped with a fusion of nursing and information technology expertise, strong leadership skills and a forward-thinking vision. Starting her career as a critical care registered nurse, she quickly moved into the IT space, where she has been focused on advancing technology to support all aspects of the patient care continuum.

She has held roles from implementing clinical systems and providing strategic consulting services to leading IT operations and solution delivery in large healthcare systems.
