Gross, MD, FACS, is senior vice president at UCI Health and the vice dean for faculty and clinical affairs at the UC Irvine School of Medicine. He is also a professor of surgery in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the medical school.

In 2019, Gross, alongside other senior leadership, spearheaded the planning and implementation of a new clinical integration business model for clinical departments at UCI Health, enhancing collaboration and efficiency across the enterprise. He also played a pivotal role in establishing the Office of Advanced Practice Providers in partnership with the chief nursing executive, further advancing the support and development of healthcare professionals.

Gross has been instrumental in creating several enterprise partnerships between the UC Irvine School of Medicine and UCI Health. These include collaborations with the chief financial officer in enterprise revenue cycle management, population health and value-based care, and managed care contracting. His efforts in strategic partnership and alignment have been in collaboration with the chief strategy officer, ensuring a cohesive and forward-thinking approach to healthcare delivery.

With the chief medical officer, Gross developed the role of associate chief medical officer/associate dean for ambulatory care, enhancing leadership within ambulatory services.

He also founded the Primary Care Associates, a community physician network that has grown from 12 to 31 physicians across six offices, demonstrating his commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare.

Gross has worked closely with the vice president of finance, physician enterprise and School of Medicine to facilitate the smooth transition of newly employed community physicians into the UCI Specialty Care Associates group, ensuring a seamless integration and support system for these professionals. His leadership and vision continue to drive innovation and excellence within UCI Health and the broader medical community.
