Lefteris oversees all clinical and patient-serving operations, including UCI Medical Center in Orange and UCI Health ― Irvine, four hospitals and affiliated physicians of the UCI Health Community Network in Orange and Los Angeles counties and ambulatory care centers across the region. The health system generates $4 billion in revenue annually and has more than 12,000 co-workers. Lefteris also oversees UCI Health Ventures, aimed at revolutionizing patient care by investing in healthcare innovation and digital health.

UCI Medical Center, consistently recognized among America’s Best Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and the county’s only Level I trauma center, is the primary teaching location for the UC Irvine School of Medicine.

Lefteris has served as president and chief executive officer since 2020, and initially joined UCI Health in 2018 as the chief operating officer. Prior to joining UCI Health, Lefteris served for two decades in various leadership positions at UNC Health, most recently as the vice president of operations of UNC REX Healthcare.

Lefteris received his bachelor’s degree in business administration/healthcare management from Appalachian State University and his master’s of health administration from Medical University of South Carolina.
