Valerie M. Dixon

Chief Compliance & Privacy Officer

Valerie M. Dixon is the chief compliance and privacy officer at UCI Health.

She is responsible for strategic and tactical development, implementation, and maintenance of the UCI Health Compliance & Privacy program for UCI Medical Center, UCI School of Medicine, and the faculty practice group in the areas of billing and coding compliance; HIPAA privacy and security; training and education; research compliance; audit, and investigations. Dixon acts as a visible and accessible role model who supports ethical practices and personal responsibility to sustain a compliant culture.

Prior to joining UCI Health, Dixon served as director of Health Sciences Compliance for the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) where she led systemwide initiatives to develop uniform approaches to mitigate compliance risks in the clinical enterprise and related health affairs activities.

Dixon obtained a bachelor's degree in Latin American studies from UCLA and a master of business administration from the UCI Paul Merage School of Business.
