This 2 hour orientation program provides an overview of the hospital and the options and services available to you. It includes a live tour of the labor and delivery unit, breastfeeding education, and the chance to meet our staff, along with other parents-to-be, and have your questions answered.
Breastfeeding education is to assist mothers-to-be in increasing their knowledge of the physiology of lactation, proper positioning and common problems and solutions associated with breastfeeding. It is recommended that expectant mothers attend this class during the eighth month of pregnancy.
You are encouraged to bring your spouse or partner, but children should not attend.
Student observation: Students who are currently attending an OB clinical rotation at UCI Health – Fountain Valley may attend the childbirth class. A UCI Health – Fountain Valley issued picture ID badge is required for admittance. No registration required
