Epidemiology & Infection Prevention, discussed the
future of coronavirus on LAist 89.3 AirTalk Live.
IN THE NEWS: Dr. Shruti K. Gohil joined LAist 89.3 “AirTalk” host Larry Mantle for a special live event bringing together COVID-19 doctors who regularly appeared on the radio program to discuss what they see for the future with coronavirus on Wednesday at Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium.
Gohil, associate medical director of Epidemiology & Infection Prevention at UCI Health, has been a frequent guest on the morning news program throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Reflecting on the early days of the pandemic, she said appearing on “AirTalk” and other programs was vitally important for infectious disease experts like herself and other physicians facing down a highly transmissible, deadly virus whose effects were made worse by misinformation and public confusion.
“I was incredibly busy at the time, we all were. But it was often the only venue we had to reach patients and people in the community, to help them understand what was at stake for them with COVID.”
