UCI Medical Center recognized by Vizient as 2022 Ambulatory Quality and Accountability Top Performer
System again meets the highest standards of service
October 02, 2022
Orange, Calif. — UCI Health has been recognized as a top performer by Vizient, Inc. in its 2022 Ambulatory Quality and Accountability Ranking. It was one of only four facilities in the U.S. to be recognized for demonstrating excellence in delivering high-quality outpatient care.
“UCI Health plays a unique and critical role in Orange County,” said Chad T. Lefteris, CEO of UCI Health. “The area’s only health system powered by a world-class research university, UCI Health has expanded its outpatient network to bring more Orange County residents clinical care rooted in the most current evidence-based medicine, scientific discovery and clinical innovation.”
This recognition reflects the high-quality care UCI Health provides in its ambulatory and outpatient offices, he said.
Performance recognition was determined through the Vizient Ambulatory Quality and Accountability Ranking system, which assesses data from participating facilities to measure performance in five domains: access to care, quality, efficiency, continuum of care and equity.
This year, 55 systems were assessed in the performance ranking for quality care spanning July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. The composite scoring system uses practice and patient-level data from the AAMC-Vizient Clinical Practice Solutions Center, Vizient Access and Throughput Data and the Vizient Clinical Data Base.
“Ambulatory care centers are helping transform the care experience for patients and are a vital component of the overall footprint for the nation’s healthcare systems. Measuring the quality of care and access they provide is essential to patient trust and acceptance of alternate sites of care," said David Levine, group senior vice president, analytics and data science for Vizient.
"It is with great pleasure that we recognize UCI Medical Center for its commitment to achieving the highest levels of quality of ambulatory patient care in 2022."
