UCI Health commercial wins Emmy award

The UCI Health commercial “Journey” won an Emmy Award in the Commercial – Single Spot category from the National Academy of Television Arts & Science-Pacific Southwest Chapter.

“Congratulations to the UCI Health Marketing & Communications team for their great work, and to the UCI Health co-workers who were featured in the TV spot,” said Chad T. Lefteris, UCI Health CEO. “This commercial is reflective of how we ‘stop at nothing’ to provide the care our patients and community deserves.” 

The UCI Health commercial also won two Telly Awards: silver in the General – Online category; and bronze in the General – Local TV category.

The commercial, which follows a woman whose breast cancer treatment put her pregnancy at risk, was inspired by real patient stories of UCI Health care teams treating breast cancer through pregnancy.

UCI Health breast cancer oncologists work in collaboration with our high-risk pregnancy services team, which takes a multidisciplinary approach, offering access to subspecialists as needed to ensure that expectant mothers and their babies receive the highest quality care. This well-coordinated continuum of care from pregnancy through neonatal care and beyond has earned UCI Medical Center some of the best outcomes in the nation for the management of complicated pregnancies. The academic health system has also earned recognition for its programs in gynecology from U.S. News and World Report and its maternity care from Newsweek.
