UC Irvine’s Verma talks aging and your voice on "The Doctors"
December 18, 2012
UC Irvine’s Dr. Sunil Verma will appear on the syndicated medical program “The Doctors” on Dec. 21 on KCBS to discuss why your voice changes as you age as well as surgical techniques to improve the aging voice. His advice is part of the show’s review of 20 Health Changes You Need to Make Now!
“Patients, friends and even family members often ask me about voice changes with aging,” said Verma, who specializes in disorders of voice, swallowing and breathing. “It is important to have a laryngologist perform a detailed examination to determine the cause of hoarseness. Some conditions may be treated through minimally-invasive office based procedures.”
The program will air in the Los Angeles area at 2 p.m., Friday on KCBS Channel 2. For other areas, see the program’s listings guide.
Verma is the director of the University Voice and Swallowing Center at UC Irvine Medical Center and is among seven UC Irvine otolaryngologists named to the America’s Best Doctors list. U.S. News and World Report has listed UC Irvine’s program in ear, nose and throat among the country’s top 50.
