UC Irvine’s Stamos offers colorectal health tips
March 22, 2012
If you are over 50 or have a family history of colon cancer, be sure to watch a special CBS HealthWatch webcast on March 28 featuring UC Irvine’s Dr. Michael J. Stamos and a panel of nationally recognized colorectal cancer experts.
The program, hosted by Dr. Travis Stork of the TV show “The Doctors,” will address screening, surgical options and more. It will stream live at 2:30 p.m. Pacific time. Questions may be submitted now to healthwatchquestions@cbs.com. Those selected will be read and answered during the webcast.
This will be the second CBS Healthwatch appearance for Stamos, who is chairman of UC Irvine’s Department of Surgery and is president of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. Last year, he discussed colorectal cancer prevention, benefits of screening and colonoscopy, digestive conditions and their relation to colorectal cancer, digestive diseases, and treatment options, especially minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
Stamos also appears in a public service announcement for National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month that is airing on KCBS-Los Angeles through April 7.
