Rehabilitative therapy services comprises an integrated multidisciplinary team that provides therapeutic intervention to patients with a wide range of physical disabilities. Services are offered in both an inpatient and outpatient setting, as well as in UC Irvine Medical Center’s licensed acute rehabilitation unit under the medical direction of both physiatrists and orthopedic surgeons.
Neuropsychological services involve consultation and treatment to physically disabled and chronically ill people who are age 7 and older. These services are provided in a variety of settings, including the inpatient acute hospital, the acute rehabilitation unit and on an outpatient basis.
Occupational therapy involves individualized and group treatment programs for patients whose function is impaired by physical illness or injury, congenital or developmental disability, or the aging process.
Physical therapy services are available for patients with a wide range of diagnoses, from musculoskeletal to neurological conditions.
Speech therapy provides assessment and develops individualized treatment programs to address functional limitations in the areas of communication, cognition and swallowing.
