Preparing for Surgery — Mind, Body and Spirit
The class will be led by anesthesiologists, perioperative doctors and nurses. They will discuss in detail the sequence of events during the day of surgery, description of anesthesia, other options and alternatives, risks and benefits.
You will receive education via email on how to manage stress that effects mind, body and spirit along with the recording.
We encourage you to contact your pre-surgery team with any questions regarding surgery or anesthesia.
The class will cover topics on:
- Anesthesia, surgery and pain management strategies
- What to expect at the hospital before, during and after surgery
- The connection between emotional well-being, health and healing
- What to do to best prepare for surgery
- Support services that are available
