UCI offers breastfeeding and lactation support and resources to employees.

Lactation rooms

There are several lactation rooms throughout the medical center for your convenience:

    Badge access required. Please register for room 6004 in advance.

    Contact the Benefits Department at 714-456-5736 for key availability, Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. 
  • Gottschalk Medical Plaza, B35, Irvine, Room 1608
    Request key from receptionist desk. For use by staff and guests only.
  • Laguna Hills, Room 253
    Request key from practice manager.
  • UCI Medical Center, Building 3, 3rd floor, Room 3013
    Badge access required. Please register for room 3013 in advance. If badge does not work, go to B3SU and ask PCC to open.

Medical plan resources: UC medical plans provide a variety of breastfeeding support resources including nurse lines, counselors and online programs to help you if you have questions about breastfeeding. If you are covered by a UC medical plan, breastfeeding support, supplies and counseling may be available at no cost. For details, contact your plan.

Breastfeeding classes: Offered at no cost to staff. View the breastfeeding class schedule.

GuidanceResources Life Resources Program: Call 844-824-3273 or visit liferesources.uci.edu (company ID: UCILRP) 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Office on Women's Health: This office can be reached at 800-994-9662 or by going to womenshealth.gov/breastfeeding.
