Dr. David K. Imagawa is a fellowship-trained UCI Health surgeon who is a leading expert in minimally invasive liver and pancreatic surgery.
His clinical interests include pancreatic cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, liver cancer, bile duct cancer and islet cell transplantation. He has published numerous publications and has participated in a number of clinical trials involving hepatocellular carcinoma and pancreatic malignancies. He also is a three-time recipient of the John E. Connolly Award, which is presented annually to an outstanding professor of surgery at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine.
Imagawa earned a medical degree and a PhD in pharmacology from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md. He completed an internship and residency in general surgery at UCLA School of Medicine, where he also completed fellowships in liver transplantation research and organ transplantation.
