Kawas is a professor of neurology at the UCI School of Medicine and in neurology and behavior at the UCI School of Biological Sciences. She also is the Al & Trish Nichols chair in neuroscience at UC Irvine. An associate director of the UCI Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND).
