Memory Loop Recorder

An implantable memory loop recorder is a device used mostly in patients who are prone to fainting (syncope) when an arrhythmia occurs.

The device is most effective when symptoms are infrequent or when more data over a longer period of time is needed for diagnosis.

The device is usually implanted under the skin and sends data to an external recorder. When an arrhythmia occurs, data is stored automatically.

The patient can also record data by pressing a button on the external recorder when symptoms are felt. The loop recorder captures data just before, during and after your symptoms occurred.
