Intraoperative MRI
The special intraoperative MRI suite allows our skilled skull base surgeons to obtain an MRI during surgery to ensure that the entire tumor has been removed.
The patient will generally have an MRI at the beginning of the surgery and one after removal of the tumor.
This is a critical piece of technology when it comes to the complex tumors of the skull base.
If there appears to be some tumor left, the surgeon will know exactly where it is based on the MRI. It can then be located and removed quickly.
