Clinical Trainings and Certifications

Our clinical training program is intended to provide and enhance the knowledge and skills of our staff in the areas of:

  • Basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • The importance of early defibrillation
  • Post-cardiac arrest care
  • Recognizing cardiovascular emergencies
  • Pediatric assessment
  • Airway management
  • Team dynamics and communication
  • Assessment of patients for risk of escalation and combative behavior
  • Systematic approaches for intervening during incidents of assault

Certification courses offered

As a recognized American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center, we are able to offer certifications to UCI Health staff in the areas of:

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • HeartCode: BLS
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

We also offer certification in the Prevention and Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB).
