Dr. Michael Cheng is a board-certified UCI Health rheumatologist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory autoimmune diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis. His clinical interests include Sjogren’s syndrome and spondyloarthropathies.
Cheng earned his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. He completed an internal medicine residency at UC San Francisco’s Fresno campus, where he was voted Resident of the Year in his second and third years. He completed a fellowship in rheumatology at UCI Medical Center.
Cheng, who had an early career as an electrical engineer before pursuing a medical degree, enjoys teaching as well as mentoring medical students, residents and rheumatology fellows.
He sees patients in Orange and Tustin.
