Dr. Sanaz Attaripour Isfahani is a board-certified UCI Health neurologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, ataxia, tremor syndromes and dystonia.
Her clinical interests include the use of deep brain stimulation and other technologies to treat movement disorders, and the pharmacologic management of neurological disorders, such as botulinum toxin injections for focal dystonia, spasticity and dystonic movements.
Attaripour Isfahani earned her medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Iran. She completed a residency in general neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa., where she served as a chief resident. Next she completed a fellowship in movement disorders at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke in Bethesda, Md.
Her research interests include advanced treatments for Parkinson's disease, the neurophysiology of movement disorders, deep brain stimulation, the neuroscience of free will, motion analysis, wearable medical technologies and human motor control. She is the author or co-author of numerous publications in peer-reviewed journal and a frequent presenter at major national and regional conferences.
