Dr. Ritesh Parajuli is a UCI Health medical oncologist who specializes in the management of patients with breast cancer.
Parajuli earned his medical degree at Manipal College of Medical Sciences in Nepal, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Ill. He also completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Miami Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Fla.
A translational researcher, Parajuli is focused on integrating liquid biopsy biomarkers that have prognostic and predictive implications for the management of breast cancer patients. These biomarkers include circulating tumor cells, circulating tumor DNA and circulating cancer-associated fibroblasts.
Parajuli is co-leader of the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center’s breast disease team, a multidisciplinary group that develops new clinical trial concepts and fosters the translation of discoveries into clinical treatments. He also is the principal investigator on a variety of breast cancer clinical trials, the author or co-author of dozens of published research papers, and recipient of many intramural and extramural research grants.
Parajuli also serves as medical director of chemotherapy infusion.
