As a medical oncologist specializing in breast cancer, UCI Health physician Rita S. Mehta, MD, designs individualized treatment plans for each patient. She works in concert with the breast health team at the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and takes an interest in the physical and emotional well-being of her patients.
Mehta is focused on finding a cure for the various types of breast cancer currently identified. She is working on several clinical trials, and has pioneered procedures aimed at reducing the size of tumors before they are surgically removed.
