Orange, Calif. — UCI Medical Center, part of UCI Health, has reached a significant milestone by having been upgraded to a four-star patient experience hospital by Medicare.
This achievement underscores Orange County’s only academic health system’s continual commitment to exceptional healthcare and outstanding patient interactions.
A comprehensive survey evaluated key areas such as:
- Communication effectiveness by physicians and nurses
- Staff responsiveness
- Overall hospital environment, including cleanliness and quietness
Feedback from 460 recently discharged patients was instrumental in guiding improvements and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care.
“UCI Health is committed to providing a standard-setting experience for all of its patients,” said Brad Giafaglione, director of experience at UCI Health.
“A four-star rating by Medicare is validation that our dedication to delivering high-quality care is felt by everyone who comes to UCI Medical Center.”
UCI Health is committed to improving the patient experience and has launched several initiatives to reduce wait times, improve patient communication and utilize technology to streamline patient care. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to not only meet but exceed patient expectations in every aspect of care.
