IN THE NEWS: UCI Health — Irvine has celebrated a major milestone in the development of its new $1.3-billion medical campus. The last beam was hoisted atop the hospital building on July 13, marking significant progress for the 1.2 million-square-foot medical complex.
“This is one of my favorite moments on a big project, where we get to stop for a moment and celebrate together. It’s rare that we get to get all the expert trades, contractors and crafts persons together. You look around and you really get to see them all and see the scale of it — it’s awesome.”
Lefteris further explained the importance of this new campus, as reported by The Daily Pilot.
“We’re full every single day at our flagship campus in Orange. So, this is additive, because we know that we need it. This is about making our world-class experts more easily available to the folks who live in Irvine and southward.”
Recruitment has already begun for more than 2,000 positions needed at the new complex, including food service workers, facility engineers, nurses, support team members and more, demonstrating the UCI Health commitment to local communities.
"We’re trying to meet people where they are.”
