IN THE NEWS: NBC4 and the Los Angeles Times recently highlighted a Corona woman who is now seizure free after a life-long struggle with epilepsy. Jasmine Williams, 26, had experienced epileptic seizures since she was eight years old, often having as many as 100 seizures a night.
Her search for a better quality of life led her to Dr. Jack Lin, director of the UCI Health Comprehensive Epilepsy Program. Lin was able to pinpoint the exact location of seizure activity in her brain and UCI Health neurosurgeon Dr. Frank Hsu removed the harmful tissue.
According to the CDC, 3 million adults and 470,000 children in the U.S. have epilepsy.
