UCI Health pet therapy program brings holiday joy to cancer patients

IN THE NEWS: ABC 7 highlights the UCI Health Pet Therapy Program. During the holiday season, therapy dogs dressed in festive attire are brought into the infusion clinic at UCI Medical Center to bring holiday joy to cancer patients.
Studies show that patients show decreased levels of stress and anxiety as well as lower blood pressure through exposure and interaction with therapy dogs. The holiday season is often a time of elevated stress for patients, so the therapy dogs are a welcome change.
