Introducing UCI Health
Rebrand follows creation of College of Health Sciences
September 20, 2017
The September 2017 announcement of a historic $200-million donation made by Susan and Henry Samueli is the largest in UCI's history. The donation led to the creation of the Susan and Henry Samueli College of Health Sciences.
Its approximately 10,000 academic and clinical faculty and staff, as well as the clinical enterprise at UCI Medical Center, are now part of UCI Health.
Supported by recent consumer research, this rebrand will better align the combined organization with the university’s expanding reputation an international center of research and education.
UCI Health will touch the lives of more patients and people in our community and around the globe while maintaining strong ties to our legacy of health advancement and care.
The Samueli donation infuses integrative health into all aspects of discovering, teaching and healing across the health enterprise. UCI Health is positioned as a bold, new leader in population health, patient care, education and research. It lays the groundwork for its ascension to national prominence in defining and providing future health today.
"We will redefine the relationship between scientists, practitioners and patients by focusing on the whole person and the whole community. Based on scientific evidence, our trans-disciplinary teams will make use of all appropriate, preventive, therapeutic and lifestyle approaches to promote optimal health and well being, while addressing diseases and conditions as needed," says UCI Health System CEO Dr. Howard J. Federoff.
