Pet therapy helps healing for cancer center patients

IN THE NEWS: Patients at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center infusion center look forward to visits from their favorite Monster, a black Havanese with a white beard and eyebrows.
The pet therapy dog and his human, Carolyn Bivens, come weekly and many patients love having him around. While Monster gets cuddles, Carolyn, a breast cancer survivor herself, offers comfort, advice and hope.
Earlier this month, Orange County Register joined Monster and Carolyn during one of their weekly infusion center visits.
