Farrell's Ice Cream Parlours, UCI Health team up for blood drives
Collections held in honor of victims of April accident, donors get free sundae
July 21, 2014
Farrell's Ice Cream Parlours and UC Irvine Medical Center are partnering for a series of blood drives that will help to maintain the supply at the area’s busiest trauma center. Shortages often occur over the summer months.
All donors will receive a free Farrell's sundae and will be entered to win a Farrell's party for 10 and other great gifts.
The next of five scheduled blood drive is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 at Farrell's Buena Park, 8650 Beach Blvd., Buena Park, 90620. Register for a blood drive by completing this appointment request form.
The drives are being held in honor of Isabel Manalo, 13, and in memory of her grandmother Marisa Malin. In April, a sports utility vehicle struck the family outside the restaurant’s Buena Park location. Isabel was seriously injured and treated at UC Irvine Medical Center. Marisa died shortly after the accident.
“UC Irvine Medical Center saved our daughter's life and treated us like family,” said Victor Manalo, Isabel’s father. “We thank Farrell’s for joining with us to support this world-class facility.”
