Philanthropists aim to boost clinical trials for advanced cancer treatment at UCI Health

IN THE NEWS: By creating the Sue and Ralph Stern Center for Cancer Clinical Trials and Research at UC Irvine with a $5 million donation, the philanthropists hope to give more Orange County residents with advanced-stage or treatment-resistant cancer access to early-phase clinical trials and leading-edge therapies.
With the arrival of Dr. Richard Van Etten, the new director of the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Ralph Stern told the Orange County Business Journal, "I saw an opportunity there for my wife and me to make the gift."
