UCI Health nurse to help typhoon victims

IN THE NEWS: UCI Health nurse Kathleen Acab is returning to her native Philippines to help the displaced and injured victims of Typhoon Haiyan, tells the Orange County Register.
Acab, a psychiatric nurse at UC Irvine Medical Center, is leaving her six children in the care of her husband and parents to join a humanitarian mission to aid the people of the battered archipelago nation. She is among at least 30 nurses in Orange County and 1,500 worldwide who have signed up for the relief effort.
