Dr. Brent G. Yeung is a UCI Health anesthesiologist who specializes in the management and treatment of pain. His clinical interests include interventional procedures for chronic pain management and the use of cannabis for pain.
He earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Next, he completed an internship in general surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and a residency in anesthesiology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, both in Washington, D.C. He received fellowship training in anesthesiology and pain medicine at UCI Medical Center.
Yeung’s research interests involve developing new methods to measure and treat pain, including discovering pain biomarkers, determining cannabis’ effectiveness in adjuvant pain relief and identifying biomarkers for intoxication. He provides hands-on practical instruction to medical students, residents and fellows.
He is passionate about his roles as a physician, teacher and researcher.
Yeung sees patients in the perioperative and outpatient settings at UCI Medical Center, UCI Health — Irvine, the UCI Health Center for Pain and Wellness, and UCI Health — Yorba Linda.
