Dr. Shalini S. Shah is a board-certified and fellowship-trained UCI Health physician who specializes in the management and treatment of adult and pediatric pain. She has extensive training in chronic pain disorders in children, specifically in oncologic pain, head and neck pain, abdominal pain, scoliosis and spasticity disorders.

She earned her medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada. She completed a residency in anesthesiology at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, followed by a fellowship in adult and pediatric pain management at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Children's Hospital of Boston. There she trained under Dr. Charles Berde, a world authority in the management of pain in children.

Shah has a particular interest in alleviating chronic pain conditions with a multidisciplinary and interventional approach, with a goal of reducing pain so children and adults may reclaim their lives and return to the activities they previously enjoyed.

She sees patients at the UCI Health Center for Pain and WellnessUCI Health — Irvine, in Newport Beach, and Yorba Linda.
