Dr. Samuel J. Spiegel is a board-certified UCI Health neuro-ophthalmologist and neurologist who specializes in neurological conditions that affect vision.
His clinical interests include optic neuritis, visual pathway disorders, neuro-immunological disorders, visual consequences of stroke, visual effects of intracranial tumors and idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
Spiegel earned his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed an internal medicine internship and a residency in neurology at Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, Calif., where he served as chief resident. He received fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology at the joint Jules Stein and Doheny eye institutes at UCLA.
His research interests include optic neuritis, demyelinating disorders, neuro-immunology, giant cell arteritis, pituitary tumors and stroke-related eye conditions.
Spiegel sees patients in Irvine and Orange.
