Dermatology
Dr. Melissa Shive is a board-certified UCI Health dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who is fellowship trained in Mohs micrographic surgery and reconstructive surgery.
Her clinical interests include advanced surgical treatment of skin cancers, such as melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma, as well as more rare tumor types. She also is skilled in a wide variety of cosmetic and laser procedures.
Shive earned her medical degree at UC San Francisco School of Medicine after obtaining a master’s in Public Health from Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. She completed a dermatology residency at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in Los Angeles. She completed a fellowship at UCI School of Medicine that focused on Mohs micrographic surgery, reconstructive surgery, cosmetic dermatology and other dermatologic procedures.
She is the author or co-author of dozens of research papers and book chapters in her field. She also has given presentations at numerous regional and national academic conferences.
Shive, who also speaks Spanish, sees patients in Irvine and Tustin.
