Dr. Maryam Rahimi is a board-certified UCI Health internal medicine physician who specializes in all aspects of primary care. Her clinical interests include preventive care, management of chronic illness, women's health, cancer screening and palliative care.
Rahimi earned her medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where she completed an internship and a residency in internal medicine.
Her research interests include hypertension in primary care and advanced care planning, which can help patients, families and physicians clarify treatment wishes in the event of a serious illness or end of life. She is a lead UCI Health investigator on a five-year study to develop better approaches to advance care planning for seriously ill patients in collaboration with UC San Francisco Health and UCLA Health. The project is funded by an $8 million grant from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
Rahimi, who is also fluent in Persian, has consistently been named a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association.
She sees patients at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
