Sarah Martin, PhD, is a licensed UCI Health psychologist who specializes in pediatric pain management and the treatment of children and adolescents with acute and chronic health conditions. She uses evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral strategies to help children and families better manage pain and improve their quality of life.
Martin earned her PhD in clinical psychology from Georgia State University in Atlanta and completed a clinical internship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, R.I. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric pain and palliative care at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
Her research, conducted at the UCI Center on Stress & Health, is focused on improving pediatric pain management disparities with a biopsychosocial, value-based approach to care. Her research has appeared in peer-reviewed publications, and she has presented her studies at national and international conferences.
She sees patients at UCI Health — Irvine, the UCI Health Center for Pain and Wellness, and UCI Medical Center.
