Dr. Karen C. Lin is a UCI Health optometrist who specializes in low vision rehabilitation. Her clinical interests also include macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa and vision conditions related to albinism.
Lin earned her optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, Calif. She completed a low-vision residency at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry, where she also taught optometry interns, dedicated her time to patients with low vision and conducted research into low vision treatment.
Before joining the UCI Health Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, Lin worked for many years in private ophthalmology and optometry practices. She also has served as a clinical instructor for primary and low vision eye care at Marshall B. Ketchum University and as executive director of a vision screening program in Northern California.
Her research interests include studying the effects of reduced contrast sensitivity on vision and activities of daily living.
Lin, who is fluent in Mandarin, sees patients in Irvine.
