Dr. Yun-San (Amy) Huang is a board-certified UCI Health internist who specializes in primary care and preventive medicine. Her clinical interests also including care for chronic diseases and HIV pre-exposure management.
Huang earned her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Next she completed a combined residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago, where she served as chief resident. She also holds a master's degree in public health from the University of Illinois School of Public Health.
Her research interests include global health and quality improvement. She also has a strong interest in medical education, including teaching and designing curricula. During her previous tenure at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, she volunteered to conduct health screenings of asylum seeks at the U.S. border. She also has participated in medical missions in the United States, Mexico, Haiti, Taiwan, China and Indonesia; organized blood and bone-marrow donation drives, and provided preventive medical care community workshops.
Huang, who also speaks fluent Mandarin and conversational Taiwanese, sees patients at UCI Health — Irvine, Gottschalk Medical Plaza and Orange.
