Dr. Ali A. Habib is a board-certified UCI Health neurologist who specializes in neuromuscular disorders including muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myopathies and myasthenia gravis.

He earned his medical degree at Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed an internal medicine internship at New York Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, where he also completed a residency in neurology. He received fellowship training in neuromuscular medicine and neurophysiology at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Irving Medical Center, also in New York City. He received additional fellowship training in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) at the Eleanor & Lou Gehrig ALS Center at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Habib's research interests include studying treatments for myasthenia gravis, ALS, myositis, myopathy, neuropathy and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).
