Dr. Sergei Grando is a board-certified UCI Health dermatologist with more than 30 years experience treating skin disorders including eczema and other autoimmune blistering diseases.
He received his medical degree at Kyiv Medical University in Kyiv, Ukraine. He completed residencies in dermatology Kyiv Medical University and at the UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, Calif. He also received a doctorate in pharmacology and biochemistry at the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education in Kyiv, and a doctorate of science in immunology and cell biology from the Central Institute of Dermatology and Venereology in Moscow, Russia.
Grando's research interests include pemphigus, keratinocyte adhesion and migration, and the cholinergic effects of tobacco products in non-neuronal tissue. He has published more than 225 papers, monographs and book chapters, and has been awarded numerous research grants from the National Institutes of Health and other funding agencies.
