Dr. David Downs is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in joint replacement and sports injuries. His clinical interests include hip replacement/arthroplasty, knee replacement/arthroplasty, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, cartilage restoration, knee instability, rotator cuff repair, labral repair, shoulder instability, sports injuries and treatment of athletes.

He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Loma Linda University Hospital, followed by a fellowship at Kaiser Permanente Irvine Medical Center. 

He works with patients to tailor treatment plans that optimize activities of daily living and return to sports while minimizing pain. Downs has returned to the area where he was raised, and now serves as team physician for his alma mater, Troy High School in Fullerton, Calif.
