William C. McMaster, MD

Dr. William C. McMaster is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in joint arthroplasty, with extensive experience in hip and knee replacement. He is also chief of orthopaedic services at Long Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center and is resident program director at the VA.
McMaster earned his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed a surgical internship and residency at the University of Chicago Billings Hospital in Chicago, Ill. before completing a residency and fellowship in orthopaedic surgery at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
McMaster is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and serves on the board of trustees for the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation in Chicago. He has served extensively in the field of orthopaedic surgery in many administrative capacities in the state, region and nationally in the field of orthopaedic surgery. McMaster served as Second Chair of the section of orthopaedics at the University of California, Irvine from 1977 to 1983. He also served in the United States Air Force as a captain in the medical services in the Vietnam era.
