Dr. Sigrid K. Burruss is a board-certified UCI Health surgeon who specializes in trauma surgery and surgical critical care.
She earned her medical degree at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at UCLA Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in surgical critical care at the UC San Diego Medical Center.
Her interests include the interactions between mental health and trauma, trauma prevention, decreasing trauma recidivism and engaging community stakeholders. She finds it rewarding to care for patients and their families and find community support networks that promote ongoing recovery.
