Dr. Sarah Giafaglione is a board-certified UCI Health anesthesiologist who specializes in regional anesthesia and acute perioperative pain.

She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados. She completed a residency in anesthesiology at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, Ill., followed by a fellowship in regional anesthesia and acute pain medicine at UCI Medical Center.

Giafaglione is an advocate for her patients who prioritizes the use of multimodal pain regimens and local anesthesia. Her goal is to decrease patients' need for perioperative opioids and smooth their transition to recovery. She speaks conversational Spanish and basic Arabic.
