Dr. Michelle R. Paff is a UCI Health neurosurgeon who specializes in functional neurosurgery (deep brain stimulation), epilepsy surgery and general neurosurgery.
Her clinical interests include functional neurosurgery for movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor and dystonia, as well as neuropathic pain, epilepsy and psychiatric disorders.
She earned a medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. She completed a neurosurgery residency at UCI Medical Center, followed by fellowship training in functional neurosurgery at the University of Toronto and Toronto Western Hospital in Toronto, Canada.
Her research interests include neuromodulation, cognitive neuroscience and psychiatry. She is the author or co-author of numerous peer-reviewed research papers published in major medical journals. She also has conducted studies to target seizure activity in the brain as a research assistant at the UCI Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory.
