Dr. Israel De Alba is a board-certified UCI Health internist who specializes in hospital medicine.
He earned his medical degree at the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico. He completed a residency in preventive medicine at Boston University School of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine residency at State University of New York. Next he completed a fellowship in general internal medicine at Boston University Medcine Center.
His research interests include racial and ethnic health disparities and designing interventions with potential to eliminate the current gap. He is also working on an assessment of cultural factors that affect cancer preventive behaviors in Orange County Latinas, such as getting a pap smear or mammogram.
De Alba, who also speaks Spanish, sees patients at UCI Medical Center in Orange.
