Dr. Douglas Trask is a UCI Health otolaryngologist who treats disorders of the ear, nose and throat who is board certified in both otolaryngology and sleep medicine. He specializes in sleep surgery and individualized treatment alternatives for patients with sleep apnea.
Trask received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, N.H. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in otolaryngology at University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.
His research training includes earning a PhD from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, and a post-doctoral fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Mass.
Trask’s research focus is on advanced treatments for people with sleep apnea, including sedated evaluation of the airway and neurostimulation therapy for people with sleep apnea. He has won numerous awards for his research, has lectured nationally and abroad, and he has published extensively on sleep apnea.
He has previously served on the faculties of the University of Iowa’s Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa, and Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
Trask is passionate about delivering patient-centered care for people with sleep disorders and he works collaboratively with the UCI Health Sleep Medicine program. Since 2020, he has performed more than 100 sleep surgeries.
