Dr. Carlos Saad is a UCI Health gastroenterologist and hepatologist who specializes in diseases and disorders of the liver and gastrointestinal tract. His clinical interests include hepatitis, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and other conditions affecting the liver.
Saad earned his medical degree at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México in Mexico City. He completed an internal medicine residency at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology.
His research interests include achlorhydria in achalasia patients, hepatitis C-induced cryoglulinemia, drug-induced liver injury, pancreas physiology and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
